Police break up fight at West Knoxville apartment complex

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police responded to a report of a stabbing in West Knoxville Thursday night to find a group of men fighting in the parking lot.

Officers responded to The Pines Apartments on Bailey Cove Road, just off of Francis Road, in West Knoxville around 10:36 p.m. after a witness called 9-1-1 to report a fight and a cut victim.

The witness also said some of the participants had fled the scene in two vehicles, possibly a white Ford Mustang and light colored sedan that could be an Oldsmobile or Buick.

A preliminary investigation found a juvenile male received a relatively minor cut to his arm, but it was from a broken car window, not a knife.

Police say the incident was a fight amongst teens, stemming from an earlier argument via social media.

The names of the people involved are being withheld as they are juveniles.

An injured male was treated for non-life threatening injuries at University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
