Knox County taxpayers have option of making payments on cell phone

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - People in Knox County will now be able to pay taxes on their cell phones.

The Knox County Trustee's Office added a new mobile application called Mobile Quick Pay on their website.  It accepts secure credit card payments

"This is a way for doing business with the county government to become even easier and more convenient," Knox County Trustee John Duncan said.

Taxpayers can also make their payments at participating banks, including American Trust Bank of East Tennessee, BB&T, First Tennessee, Home Federal, and U.S. Bank.

People can also visit any of the Knox County satellite offices, which are located in Cedar Bluff, East Knoxville, Farragut, Halls and South Knoxville.

The property tax deadline is February 28.  Any payments sent by mail will be accepted as on time as long as they are postmarked by this day.
