KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital Sunday after a wreck that police think may have been the result of road rage.

The wreck happened before 6:30 p.m. on the 5700 block of Clinton Hwy.

Witnesses say the driver of truck appeared to intentionally hit the motorcyclist. The truck driver then fled the scene.

Witnesses gave conflicting descriptions of the suspect's truck. The motorcyclist described the vehicle as a silver Nissan Titan pickup truck. It was being driven by a white man in his 40s or 50s with sandy brown hair.

The motorcyclist was taken to the UT Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

If you have any information on what may have happened, you're asked to call Knoxville Police Department at (865) 215-7212.
