JAMESTOWN (WATE) - Light snow fell Thursday morning in parts of the WATE 6 viewing area, mostly in higher elevations.

Snow was reported on the northern Plateau in Oneida and Jamestown. Up to an inch of snow accumulated and some side streets became slick. That prompted school officials to cancel classes in Fentress and Scott counties.

Cumberland County schools were also closed because of the snow in the northern portion of the county.
