Driver charged with DUI after four car crash involving police cruiser

HALLS (WATE) - Police are investigating a four car crash late Friday evening involving a Knoxville Police Department patrol vehicle and an off-duty officer.

It happened just after 10:20 p.m. at the intersection of E. Emory Road and Andersonville Highway. Emory Road was closed for some time.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers and the Knox County Sheriff's Office found no one was injured from the accident.

THP said driver Waylon Blake Etherton, 24, of Fredericksburg, Va., was charged with a DUI.

The off-duty KPD officer was not injured, and the police patrol car was driven from the scene.

THP is conducting a crash investigation.
