ROGERSVILLE (WATE) - A man was arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine from pseudoephedrine on Saturday, according to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office.
Officers have been conducting an ongoing narcotics investigation pertaining to meth manufacturing.
During the investigation, officials found that Brandon Howe Ramey, 20, of Mount Carmel, made frequent and suspicious purchases of pseudoephedrine, which is a necessary ingredient in the manufacturing process of meth.
Officers contacted Ramey in reference to his frequent pseudoephedrine purchases. It was then determined that Ramey had been purchasing pseudoephedrine to make meth for approximately two years.
Ramey was charged with the promotion of manufacturing methamphetamine and lodged in the Hawkins County Jail for a $75,000 bond. He is scheduled for a March 4 court date.
The investigation is ongoing and additional defendants are possible.
