Maryville man arrested for impersonation, theft

MARYVILLE (WATE) - A Maryville man was arrested for impersonation and theft, according to the Blount County Sheriff's Office.

Kevin Scott Thibault, 47, is charged with impersonating a licensed professional, criminal simulation and two counts of theft of property.  All of this after an apparent illegal racket in which he was impersonating an attorney.

Thibault is being held without bond for violating parole in Hamilton County.

His court date is set for March 8.

Specific information regarding the case cannot be released at this time due to the case's sensitivity.

Officials are asking for the public's help in identifying additional people that Thibault may have victimized.

Possible victims in which Thibault has presented himself as being a legal professional, or individuals who have paid Thibault money in return for legal services, should call the Blount County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division during normal business hours at (865)273-5001.
