GATLINBURG (WATE) - Several inches of snow fell in Gatlinburg Wednesday, which was great news for tourists.

A local entrepreneur likes the snow too. He says the white stuff makes him a lot of green.

"I definitely get excited every time it snows because it's job security," said Chuck Simms, of Woodchuck's Wood and Yard Care.

This is his seventh year Simms has been in the snow plow business.

"It's been an incredibly good year. Last year was kind of a dismal year for snow," he said.

He started work at 9:30 Tuesday night.

"I plowed until about 3:30 a.m., got about an hour and a half of sleep and started back at 5 a.m.," he said.

Simms says he's built his business with loyal customers who depend on his service to keep their customers happy.

"This morning we had a guest scared to come down a steep driveway," said Kevin White, of Chalet Village Properties. "We called Kevin and he was there within half an hour with his plow."

Simms hopes this won't be the last snowfall of the season.
