OLIVER SPRINGS (WATE) - Oliver Springs residents are planning a big show of support for Janelle Arthur, the hometown woman who is a contestant on American Idol.
A watch and vote event will be held on Wednesday, March 13 at 8:00 p.m.
The watch party will be held at City Hall, 717 Main Street, in Oliver Springs.
U.S. Cellular is a co-sponsor and will provide access to devices for voting during the broadcast.
Janelle Arthur is a top ten finalist on the music performance show.
"You just can't express your feelings of how excited you are. We're so proud of her," said Kay Carson, who works at Oliver Springs Middle School where Arthur was a student.
"I want her to be the next American Idol because she'll be our American Idol," she added.
