KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The man sought for nearly a month for the shooting death of an East Knoxville woman was arrested Friday afternoon, federal authorities say.

Brandon Scott Donaldson, 22, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Rockford, Illinois, around 4:30 p.m.

Donaldson is suspected of shooting Marcia Crider, 19, while she was sitting with her mother in a car on Porter Avenue. Crider was 13 weeks pregnant.

Crider was shot during an argument that police say was a domestic dispute.

Warrants were issued a short time later for Donaldson on charges of second-degree murder for Crider's death and attempted second degree murder for shooting at her mother.

The U.S. Marshal Service says deputies made the arrest after the investigation in Knoxville led to an apartment complex in Rockford.

Donaldson was found outside the complex with his brother, Alexander Branner. They were apprehended by deputies after a short pursuit.

"It really puts the spotlight on what happens when local law enforcement, state law enforcement and federal law enforcement work together. All of these agencies came together, we shared information, and we worked with a common goal in mind. It took us almost a month but we did it. We found him," said Deputy U.S. Marshal John Sanchez.
