MADISONVILLE (WATE) -  Preparations are underway in Madisonville to welcome home two soldiers who have been serving in Afghanistan.

Private First Class Brent Ogle, 22, and 21-year-old Specialist Danial Ferris both graduated from Sequoyah High School in Monroe County before enlisting in the army.

Their families have been getting posters and signs ready to greet them.

The soldiers will only be home for a few weeks before heading back to Fort Riley, Kansas.

Their mothers say they want to make their sons' time at home count.

"Doing things together as a family. Going places and eating out and just kind of getting reacquainted because it's been so long," Becky Ogle, Brent's mother, said.

"Nothing too extravagant. I asked him what he wanted, and he said chili hot dogs with your slaw. I said really? We can do that!" Jackie Yates, mother of Danial, said.

PFC Ogle is scheduled to arrive at Mcghee Tyson Airport Saturday at 10:30 p.m., although he was originally scheduled to come in at 2 p.m.  Electrical problems with the plane delayed his flight.

Specialist Ferris will be driving into Vonore Sunday around 3 p.m.

The community is encouraged to come out and welcome them home.
