Two men shot while sitting in their car in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE (WATE) - A Bristol man is dead and his father is injured following a shooting that happened Sunday outside a Pigeon Forge motel.

Justin B. Dillard, 21, died Sunday night after being shot while he and his father sat in their Nissan pickup truck in the parking lot of River Lodge South, 3251 Parkway in Pigeon Forge.

Travis B. Dillard, 47, was injured in the shooting.

The two men were registered at the motel.

Police say the men were approached by a man who demanded money. The suspect then fired shots at both men.

The shooter is described as a black man with dreadlocks wearing a purple shirt and jeans. He is approximately 5"10" tall and weighs about 250 pounds.

The suspect fled in a large white sedan, possibly a Buick.
