Suspicious packages sent to several Tri-Cities locations

JOHNSON CITY (AP) - Police in multiple east Tennessee cities are responding to reports of suspicious packages, including in Johnson City where the bomb squad has been dispatched to several locations.

The Johnson City Press is reporting that Unicoi, Greeneville and Bristol also received some of the packages.

Johnson City Police Chief Mark Sirois says there is no known threat associated with the packages, but the bomb squad was dispatched to multiple locations throughout the city as a precaution.

Police locked down the Johnson City Public library and other sites that received packages Monday and cleared other areas. Chief Sirois said packages were also sent to a bus station and a post office.
