KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man previously convicted of killing a toddler was back in a Knoxville courtroom Monday as jury selection began in his retrial.
Paul Johnson, Jr. was accused of beating and strangling his ex-girlfriend's 18-month-old son, Joseph Manning, in 2008.
In 2010, he was convicted of felony murder and aggravated child abuse.
But due to presiding Judge Richard Baumgartner's pill addiction and resulting crimes, Johnson was granted a retrial.
