KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two men responsible for multiple burglaries and thefts in East Tennessee were arrested Wednesday morning.
Nathan Shane Coker, 32, of Masters Lane and James Tyler Porter, 30, of Callahan Road, were taken into custody just after 11 a.m. on Callahan Road
after running on foot from officers for approximately 15 minutes.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office
helicopter aided in tracking the suspects.
The arrests came after a lengthy investigation
tying Coker to numerous burglaries and thefts that occurred in Knox County and
Porter to cases in Knox County, Anderson County, and Union
County.
Coker has a criminal history in Knox County that
includes possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary, aggravated burglary, theft,
and forgery.
Porter's Knox County criminal history includes domestic assault,
theft, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment,
criminal trespassing, simple possession, reckless driving, vandalism, and
aggravated criminal trespassing.
Coker is charged with aggravated burglary and
five counts of failure to appear with a total bond amount of $109,500.
Charges
are pending against Porter.
The investigation is ongoing.
