KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man previously convicted of killing a toddler has been found guilty again at his retrial.
Paul Johnson, Jr. was convicted of felony murder and aggravated child abuse back in 2010.
On Friday, a new judge repeated that verdict, sentencing him to life in prison for the murder charge.
Police say Johnson beat and strangled his ex-girlfriend's 18-month-old son, Joseph Manning, in 2008.
Sentencing for the child abuse charge has yet to be determined.
Johnson was granted a retrial because the judge presiding over his original case, Richard Baumgartner, was later found to be addicted to pills.
