Young boy hit by car in East Knoxville


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville Police are searching for a driver who allegedly hit a young boy with his car, then drove off.

It happened around 4:40 Friday afternoon on Olive Street in the Walter P. Taylor Homes area.

Police say an 11-year-old boy was riding his bike when he was hit by a car. He was taken to Children's Hospital. Police described the boy's condition as not too serious, but didn't go into any detail.

Another child who witnessed the incident says the driver stopped, got out, looked at the victim, then drove off. The car is described as a black medium sized sedan driven by a black man wearing a black and red toboggan hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
