ROCKFORD (WATE) - A human body found in the Little River Thursday night has now been identified as a Missouri man who had been traveling to Virginia.
Investigators say 29-year-old Lance Larson from O'Fallon, Missouri was found dead in the water near Roddy Branch Rd. and Maryville Pike in the Rockford community. Two boaters found Larson's body half a mile from the Roddy Branch Boat dock.
Deputies and TWRA agents removed his body from the water. An autopsy was conducted Friday, but Larson's cause of death is still under investigation.
Officials are now looking for Larson's car. It's described as a tan 2003 4-door Kia Spectra with a Missouri plate of CF1S9R. They say he last made contact with his family last month.
If anyone has information on Larson, they're asked to call the Blount County Crime hotline at (865) 273-5200.
