RUTLEDGE (WATE) - Grainger Co. firefighters worked Saturday to stop a forest fire just off Highway 11W near Rutledge.

According to the Rutledge Volunteer Fire Department, the blaze broke out around 1:30 p.m.

The Blaine Volunteer Fire Department was the first on the scene, and the Rutledge Volunteer Fire Department was called in to assist with putting out the flames.

Crews estimate the fire burned through about 20 acres. No homes were threatened.

High winds made it harder to put out the blaze, but firefighters set up a fire break line to let the fire extinguish itself.

No injuries were reported.
