PIGEON FORGE (WATE) - Firefighters made quick work of a brush fire near Dollywood Saturday.

The fire began around 4:30 p.m. and was located near the upper train loop on the southern outskirts of Dollywood. Park officials tell 6 News that the fire was inside Dollywood's boundaries, but not inside the actual amusement park.

About 80 firefighters created a fire break around the brush fire, containing it to under 10 acres in about an hour and a half.

Officials believe the fire began from a stray ember from the train ride through that area, however an official cause has yet to be determined.

A majority of the firefighters left by 11 p.m. Saturday, but a few did stay overnight for safety precautions.

No injuries were reported.

Park officials say they still plan to open as scheduled next weekend.
