SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A Kodak man pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of aggravated rape of a child.
Ivor John Parsons was 21 when he was arrested in September of 2010 for a February 2012 incident in which he raped a child under the age of three.
Parsons was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Attorney General James Dunn issued a statement saying, "I am pleased that the Tennessee Legislature saw fit to increase the penalties for this type of horrible crime that was committed against a very young victim."
