LAFOLLETTE (WATE) - Two Campbell County men were arrested Saturday after buying a TV with counterfeit money.

Their plot was uncovered when the woman they bought the TV from at a yard sale tried to spend the money, only to learn it was fake.

"She went to a store to buy something, and she found out the money was counterfeit and happened to see their vehicle going back through town, called us and followed them until we stopped them," said LaFollette Police Chief Jimmy Jeffries.

Police caught both Jason Snodderly and Nathan McBride with counterfeit bills along with the victim's TV.

"That's when they were arrested and charged, and then we went to the jail and interviewed them, and during the interview, found out where their printer was," Chief Jeffries added.

McBride's family let them search the home. That's where police found more paper cut for printing.

"We see a case periodically, there's not been a case real recently where we found a printer," Jeffries said, "but we do see these cases where we find printers and the money. I think, they apparently from the stack of paper they had already cut but hadn't printed on, printed any money on, they were planning to print quite a bit of money."

Police say finding the printer played a big part in speeding up the investigation.

Chief Jeffries says it's more unusual to find the printer than it is to find counterfeit bills.

The secret service has been called to help with the case.

The two suspects have been charged with counterfeiting, conspiracy, theft and other charges.
