KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police have identified the woman killed in a wrong way accident on Clinton Highway.
Sharon
Barison, 48, of Clinton, died Wednesday after the Monte Carlo she was a passenger in struck a van while driving in the wrong direction.
Driver James
Daugherty, 51, of Clinton and passenger Jessica
Ivey, 31, of Powell, were also injured in the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle, Gabriel
Ferrari, 69, was not hurt.
The
investigation is continuing and police say speed was a factor in the crash.
They also
suspect that the driver of the Monte Carlo was driving under the influence. A
blood sample was sent to the TBI lab for analysis.
No one in the
Monte Carlo was wearing a seat belt. Ferrari was wearing his
seat belt.
Police say charges will be filed at the end of the investigation.
