Two men caught during foot chase charged in more cases

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - More charges have been filed against the two men who were caught by deputies last week.

Nathan Shane Coker, 32, of Masters Lane and James Tyler Porter, 30, of Callahan Road, were taken into custody March 13 after running on foot from deputies for approximately 15 minutes.

The arrests came after a lengthy investigation tying Coker to numerous burglaries and thefts in Knox County and Porter to cases in Knox County, Anderson County, and Union County.

Coker was initially charged with aggravated burglary and five counts of failure to appear. He is now charged with six additional aggravated burglary charges, one theft charge, and one vandalism charge.

Porter, initially charged with theft, received another theft charge.

Both men are being held at the Knox County Detention Facility. Coker is being held on a $177,500 bond, and Porter is being held on a $15,000 bond.
