TELLICO PLAINS (WATE) - A Tellico Plains manufacturer is laying off dozens of employees, but the owner says he hopes the move will only be temporary.
Tellico Services Inc., which is located in the former CVG building, is laying off 85 of its 200 workers.
Owner Mark Soles said he's had to make the move due to a lack of orders from the military.
Soles says he has a contract with the Army to make military bandoliers.
He says the contract is still good, but the funding has been delayed due to the sequester and budget issues in Washington.
Soles says he will bring back the workers as soon as he receives the orders.
He also has private contracts that won't impact the remaining workers.
