MARYVILLE (WATE) - A Maryville marine killed during a shootout with police was shot 10 times, according to autopsy results released by Chief Tony Crisp of the Maryville Police Department.

Authorities said Lance Cpl. Theodore "TJ" Jones IV, 27, fired a gun at random citizens and officers on Thursday.

Jones refused officers' commands to drop his gun, and that's when Maryville Police officers and a Blount County Sheriff's deputy shot him.

Lt. Eddie Davis and Field Training Officer Kyle Mitchell, of the Maryville Police Department, and Cpl. Gary Perkins, a deputy with the Blount County Sheriff's Department, were the officers involved in the shooting.

All three officers are on administrative leave as the department continues its investigation, which is protocol.

As of right now, it doesn't appear that the officers violated any policies or procedures.
