Manufacturer to close down Lenoir City facility

LENOIR CITY (WATE) - A Loudon County manufacturer is closing its Tennessee facility and consolidating its business.

SECO Tools informed employees Tuesday that they will be closing the Lenoir City location.

A company spokesman said production would be, "relocated to other existing global production units."

The company is also relocating its custom tooling unit to its Troy, Michigan headquarters.

The transition will begin in July and is expected to wrap up in the second half of 2014.

The Loudon County Economic Development Agency said they were aware of the news and would begin looking for a new tenant to take over SECO Tools' property.
