Officials search for man who robbed 2 Morristown businesses


MORRISTOWN (WATE) - Authorities are searching for a man who robbed two north Morristown businesses on Friday.

The Morristown Police Department said a white male robbed Stephanie's Ultimate Tanning, located on the 1800 block of Buffalo Trail, at approximately 4:30 p.m.

A male matching the same description then robbed Check into Cash, which is located on the 1600 block of East Andrew Johnson highway, around 6 p.m.

The suspect brandished a small handgun and forced store employees into a back room of the store. He then got away with some cash.

The suspect is described as tall, slender, has dark eyes and freckles. He was wearing a ski mask, black and white checked jacket, jeans and a grey hoodie.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to get more information.
