Suspect steals cash register from Knoxville gas station


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police are searching for a suspect accused of grabbing a cash register from a Knoxville gas station.

The Knoxville Police Department said it happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the Kenjo Market on North Broadway.

A white male walked into the store asking about a prepaid mobile phone card. When the cashier looked away, the suspect grabbed the cash register and fled in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20's. He is about 5'11" and very thin.

He had short dark hair and was unshaven. He was also wearing a thin dark jacket with white stripes around the cuffs and a red knit cap.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a blacK PT Cruiser, possibly with a Florida tag 785 YRN.
Police believe the suspect may have been involved in other thefts in the area.
