Knoxville's Helen Ross McNabb Center, Chattanooga's Fortwood Center complete merger


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two long-time mental health providers in East Tennessee formally merged Monday after receiving approval from the State of Tennessee Attorney General earlier this year.

Helen Ross McNabb Center, Inc. (HRMC) and Fortwood Center, Inc. of Chattanooga announced in November they were seeking approval to merge operations.

HRMC has been operating since 1948. Fortwood starting in 1946.

The organizations provide outpatient mental health services to children and adults.

In a media release issued Monday, the non-profit agencies said they served more than 17,000 individuals last year.
