KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville woman was arrested Thursday on charges accusing her of selling prescription pain killers.

Brenda Ashley, 51, was arrested following a two-month investigation. She is accused of selling the drugs from her Price Avenue home.

Knoxville police say they began investigating after neighbors complained of suspicious activity in their neighborhood.

An investigator with Knoxville's Repeat Offender Squad made undercover purchases of Oxycodone.

After a search warrant was obtained, officers found Xanax, a handgun, six cell phones, dozens of empty pill bottles and a blank script from a prescription script pad.

Ashley is charged with two counts of violating a drug free school zone, possessing Oxycodone and Xanax for resale within 1000 feet of a park and a daycare, and possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony.

She is being held in the Knox County Jail on a total of $30,000 in bonds.
