NORRIS (WATE) - Two Kentuckians were arrested in Anderson County over the weekend after a homeowner came home and interrupted a burglary in progress.

Around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, a woman and her friend returned to her Andersonville Highway home to find a woman in a truck in her driveway and a man taking items out of the home.

Upon seeing the homeowner, the female suspect honked the horn and yelled for the man to leave.

The man left the house with more items and the homeowner struggled with him over the items before he and the female suspect fled the scene.

The homeowner's friend meanwhile called Norris police and gave them a description of the truck in which the suspects got away.

An Anderson County deputy and a Norris police officer found the truck a short time later and started pursuing the vehicle.

After a brief chase, the truck stopped and Timothy Shane Petrey, 40, of Williamsburg, Ky., and Elizabeth Jane North, 47, of London, Ky., were taken into custody.

Both were charged with several offenses for both the burglary of the residence as well as an outbuilding on the property.

Petrey and North were each charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, possession of burglary tools.

Both were also charged with robbery because of the struggle that took place with the homeowner after she came home.

Petrey was also charged with a felony count of evading arrest and reckless driving.

Both suspects are being held in the Anderson County Detention Facility without bond pending arraignment.
