KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A strip club bouncer says he has no idea why someone would shoot him with an arrow.

Brian Bowling was shot Sunday around 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Ball Gentleman's Club in Knoxville.

Bowling says the arrow flew at him from behind just after the club had closed. Customers had left the building and dancers had finished their shift.

"My first theory was that it was a disgruntled customer -- one that was angry, that we had asked to leave or something," said Bowling, who is known as "Big B" at the club.

Bowling says he knows the arrow was shot by someone in the woods near the club's parking lot.

"Boom! It was right in the back of my shoulder," Bowling said. "I felt the pain go down the back of my leg. I look back and see the arrow sticking out of my shoulder. So I grabbed it, and luckily it came out pretty easily."

Big B says because of his muscle mass, his injury isn't too bad. He has already returned to work.

Of all the stories that come with being a bouncer at a strip club, Bowling says, this one is the strangest.

"The arrow tops it all," he said.

The identity of the person who shot the arrow remains a mystery, but Big B says he would like to get his hands on that person.
