KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A violent armed robbery and chase ended Tuesday afternoon with the suspect in handcuffs.

Knoxville police say Paul Grubbs, 24, pointed a gun in the victim's face and then hit the victim with the gun outside the Walgreens on North Broadway at Woodland.

Grubbs demanded the victim's wallet before driving off in a gold SUV.

Police say Grubbs refused to stop when his vehicle was spotted. He led police on a chase until he stopped on Tecoma Drive at Whittle Springs Road.

Grubbs now faces charges of aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, driving on revoked license, and possession of a weapon with the intent to go armed. He also had two previous warrants for his arrest on file.
