Former Lady Vol Jolly-Harper named head coach at Missouri St.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (WATE) - Former Lady Vol basketball player Kellie Jolly-Harper has been named head coach at Missouri State.
The move comes just a few weeks after Jolly-Harper was fired at North Carolina State.
"I couldn't be happier and more excited about this opportunity," Harper said at her introductory press conference on Wednesday.
"This program has great tradition, fantastic facilities and a solid fan base. It's a fresh start for Lady Bears Basketball. The future is very bright, and we're going to have high expectations to do something really special here."
Jollie-Harper played for the Lady Vols from 1995-1999. She was a part of three national championship teams at Tennessee in 1996, 1997 and 1998.
She started her head coaching career at Western Carolina (97-65) and spent the past four seasons as head coach at North Carolina State (70-64).
