UT student assaulted, robbed in Fort Sanders


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police are looking for the two men that robbed a University of Tennessee student and left him with minor injuries.

Victim Nicholas Watson told police he was approached from behind by two men on Laurel Avenue near 12th Street around 10:30 p.m.

One man flashed a gun and demanded Watson's cell phone, wallet, shoes and backpack.

They then struck the victim in the face and fled on Laurel Avenue, heading west.

Watson suffered minor injuries to his left eye, but declined to go to the hospital.

The first suspect is described as a black male, about 6' tall and about 185 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans and was armed with a handgun.

The second suspect is around 6'1" tall and 185 pounds. He was wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans.
