Knoxville lawyer TaKisha Fitzgerald receives censure

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Lawyer and Assistant District Attorney TaKisha Fitzgerald received a public censure from the Tennessee Supreme Court Tuesday.

According to the state's Board of Professional Responsibility, Fitzgerald, "failed to make a timely disclosure to the defense of letters written by the defendant and of phone calls by the defendant."

A public censure is considered a warning and does not affect Fitzgerald's ability to practice law.

The lawyer submitted a conditional guilty plea acknowledging the misconduct.
