81-year-old Harlan Co. woman dies from injuries in house fire

LYNCH (WATE) - Authorities are investigating after an 81-year-old woman died in a house fire on Friday afternoon, according to the Kentucky State Police.

It happened around 3 p.m. in the Lynch community.

The victim, Marjorie Boggs of Harlan County, was transported from the scene of the fire to Harlan Appalachian Regional Healthcare, where she died from her injuries.

Boggs' son, 63-year-old Robert Boggs of Hueytown, Alabama, was also injured in the blaze.  He was treated and released from the hospital. 

At this time no foul play is suspected. 

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
