Barbourvillle church meets in garage after building flooded

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Members of a Knox County church that was knocked off its foundation in flooding on Wednesday still found a way to worship on Sunday in a nearby garage.

Pastor A. Y. Mills told WYMT-TV the Jeff's Creek Baptist Church is filled with mud and unsalvageable.

After Sunday's service, Mills told the station, "The Lord is everywhere we want him to be, and we thank God for that."

Church members plan to rebuild and are already collecting donations.

Mills said they will need all the help they can get to rebuild, but he has faith that God is going to bless them to do it.

Until then, they plan to keep meeting in the garage.
