JACKSBORO (WATE) - Residents near Jacksboro had a short scare Wednesday morning after a bomb squad was called in for a report of live dynamite.

A resident on Ginnie Lane off of Whitman Hollow Boat Dock Road in Campbell County called dispatchers before 10 a.m. after finding what she thought was a bag of live dynamite and a blasting cap in her storage building.

The Knox County Bomb Squad was called in and planned to evacuate several surrounding homes while they investigated the explosives.

Upon further inspection, the explosives were found to be old flares and wires.

The bomb squad was canceled.
