Local high schools make U.S. News & World Report list

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Several local high schools have been named in U.S. News & World Report's 2013 Best High School National Rankings.

Oak Ridge High School in Anderson County, Hardin Valley Academy, Farragut High School and Bearden High School in Knox County, Morristown West High School in Hamblen County, Greeneville High School in Greene County and Maryville High School in Blount County have all achieved a silver ranking.

Oak Ridge High School led the group with a national ranking of #904 and placed #6 among Tennessee schools.

Other rankings:

  • Hardin Valley Academy - #1,140 nationally and #10 in Tennessee
  • Farragut High School - #1,286 nationally and #13 in the state
  • Bearden High School - #1,296 nationally, #14 in Tennessee
  • Morristown West High School - #1445 nationally,  #16 in state
  • Greeneville High School - #1571 nationally, #18 in state
  • Maryville High School #1717 nationally, #20 in state
  • Cookeville High School - #2113 nationally, #23 in state
