KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Utility crews were working to restore power to thousands of customers in the Cedar Bluff area on Monday afternoon.

About 5,000 customers lost power around 11:30 a.m.

Power was disrupted to schools on Cedar Bluff as well as multiple traffic lights.

General Manager Shannon Littlefield with the Lenoir City Utilities Board said the company had an equipment failure at the Cedar Bluff substation.

Power was restored around 2:15 p.m.
