Johnson receives 19 years for abuse charge

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man was sentenced for the second time after being found guilty of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Paul Jerome Johnson was sentenced to 19 years. The sentence will run concurrently with the life sentence he's currently serving for felony murder in the same case.

Johnson was already tried and convicted once in the case, but the decision was thrown out because the presiding judge, Richard Baumgartner, was found to be addicted to pain pills at the time.

A judge found Johnson guilty of the murder and abuse charges in March.
