Police ID body found near Tennessee River


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police have identified the man whose body was found on the banks of First Creek near downtown Knoxville last month.

The man was identified as Jeremy Carter, a homeless man originally from Florida who was in his twenties at the time of his death.

Knoxville Police Department spokesman Darrell DeBusk said there were no signs of foul play in Carter's death.

His body was found in First Creek underneath a pedestrian bridge on April 19.
