Police find car in creek, 2 dead

HENDERSONVILLE (AP) - Police say they have found two men dead inside a car that crashed into a creek in Hendersonville.

Police told WSMV-TV that Hendersonville Police Officer Braxton Craig found debris on a roadway early Saturday and decided to investigate. A police statement says while checking the area, Craig found that a car had knocked over a lamp pole and a small tree before going over a hill and into a creek below.

Police say two men inside the vehicle were dead, apparently as a result of the crash.

Police aren't releasing the names of the victims pending notification of kin.
