C-SPAN bus visits Farragut Middle School students

KNOXVILLE (AP) - Farragut Middle School students will learn about the programs and resources available through C-SPAN during a bus tour and several local winners of the StudentCam 2013 documentary competition will be recognized.

The C-SPAN bus is now in its 20th year on the road and visiting numerous cities, schools and universities across the country.

C-SPAN presents three public affairs television networks in both SD and HD; C-SPAN Radio, heard in Washington, D.C., and nationwide via XM Satellite Radio; and a video-rich website that hosts the C-SPAN Video Library.

The StudentCam 2013 documentary competition invited middle and high school students to create a five- to eight-minute video on the most important issue that the government should address this year.

Farragut had a first-prize winner and three third-prize winning entries in the contest.
