TALBOTT (WATE) - A Hamblen County man is facing charges after a standoff with deputies outside his home on Thursday.

Brandon Rines, 42, is being held without bond in the Hamblen County Jail.

He's charged with three counts of aggravated assault on an officer and reckless endangerment.

Deputies say they encountered Rines while responding to a report of gunfire.

Rines allegedly pointed his gun at the deputies several times and threatened to shoot, but later surrendered after firing one shot into the ground.

The sheriff says all three deputies will be commended for their actions.
