Knoxville man refuses to tell police why he was shot several times

KNOXVILLE  (WATE) - A Knoxville man who drove himself to a hospital with several gunshot wounds early Friday won't tell police who shot him.

Police say Reginald Depriest, 43, arrived at Tennnova Healthcare's emergency room around 4:30 a.m. after driving himself there.

Depriest suffered several gunshot wounds to his arm and upper body.

When police talked to Depriest, however, he refused to tell them who shot him or where the shooting took place.

Despite the victim's refusal to talk, police pieced together information about his vehicle and his past history to determine he was likely shot on Cecil Avenue. An investigation is continuing.

Depriest was later taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
