KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A federal grand jury handed down a new indictment this week against Leon Houston, which takes the place of a previous indictment.

Houston was arrested in January after he admitted to federal officials that he was in possession of marijuana while also owning a gun.

The new indictment includes the previous gun charge and adds a charge for allegedly making a threat to kill Attorney Jim Logan during a phone call.

Houston also filed two hand-written motions of his own, calling for affidavits from Judge Bruce Guyton and U.S. Attorney William Killian, claiming they have knowledge of a conspiracy against him.

Houston will be in court Monday at 10:30 a.m. for a hearing to where he will receive a new elbow counselor. Houston has opted to represent himself in court but has been appointed counsel to assist in his defense.
