Y-12 trespassers to remain in jail until sentencing

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The three protestors convicted of breaking into the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge will remain in jail until their September sentencing.

Sister Megan Rice, Greg Boertje-Obed, and Michael Walli were found guilty on all charges Wednesday and face up to 30 years in prison.

On Friday, a judge ruled that attorneys had not met the burden of prod necessary to keep the trio out of jail.

Judge Amul Thapar said that because of the seriousness of the offenses, the group must remain until jail.
